Things to Bring (and NOT to bring)

 (This list was updated on 9 February 2008)

 

NOTE TO PARENTS:  Your cadet is responsible for preparing and packing his/her seabag.  Please inspect their Seabag for the following items.

 

TRAVEL UNIFORM:  Dress Blues if traveling by auto.  Appropriate civilian clothes if traveling by commercial carrier.   Must have a current ID card.

 

PLEASE NOTE THAT NEW STYLE UTILITIES (NOT DUNGAREES) ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS TRAINING!

 

THE QUANTITIES SHOWN BELOW REFLECT THAT THERE WILL BE NO LAUNDRY CALL DURING THE TRAINING. YOU MUST BRING ENOUGH TO GET YOU THROUGH THE ENTIRE TRAINING!!

 

1  Set Dress Blues. For females, skirt or pants are authorized

1  Black Neckerchief or tie for jumper

1  Seabag

1  Black belt w/silver buckle

3  NEW STYLE Utility  shirts and trousers with flashes and names

1  Tube of SPF 15 sunscreen

1  Padlock with 2 keys (no combination lock; 1 key should be placed in personnel file)

1  Pair of athletic running shoes

8  Pair black socks

4  Pair white socks

8  White crew neck T-shirts

8  pair underwear

2  Pair of shorts - black or blue (1 for sleep, 1 for PT)

1  Pair of sweats - black or blue

1  Utility jacket

2  towels

2  washcloths

1  Bathrobe or shower wrap

2  PT shirts (1 for sleep, 1 for PT)

1  Sweatshirt

1  Pair black dress shoes

1  White Dixie cup cover (male)

    or Combo/beret (female)

1 sewing kit

1  Black ballpoint pen

1  Pad of paper

1  Pencil

1  Chain to wear (with key around neck)

1  Shoe shine kit

1  Lip balm or chap stick

1  Soap with holder

1  Religious material - optional

1  Mesh laundry bag

1  Pair of shower shoes

1  Hygiene supplies (shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving gear, deodorant, feminine products, comb/brush)

 

 

*   Females: pins, rubber bands to secure long hair

 

2-3 sets of APPROPRIATE civilian attire.  No short skirts, baggy pants, tummy-baring or low-cut tops

     YOU KNOW WHAT IS APPROPRIATE, AND IF IT’S NOT, YOU WILL WEAR YOUR UNIFORM WHILE ON LIBERTY.

NOTES: 

 

  1. A Seabag inspection will be performed upon arrival. 

  2. ALL SEABAG ITEMS MUST BE MARKED WITH CADET’S NAME.

  3. CELL PHONES MAY BE BROUGHT TO TRAINING BUT WILL BE TURNED IN TO COTC/XOTC UPON ARRIVAL.

  4. MEDICATIONS ARE PERMITTED WITH PRIOR APPROVAL OF THE COTC.
