Directions and Transportation to Check-in and Berthing at 32nd Street Naval Station San Diego Arrival time for cadets Cadets should plan to arrive between 1200-1400 on 22 March 2008. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS EASTER WEEKEND. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS TRAINING IF YOU CAN NOT CHECK IN AT THIS TIME. Check in will be at Donnelly Hall, Building 3362, Naval Station San Diego. Once you enter the gate, ask for specific directions from the guard. To access the base, you will need proof of insurance, registration, and a valid driver’s license. For problems encountered on check-in day, please call the phone number provided by the COTC. Sea Cadet Officers will be available to assist with travel problems and stranded cadets. Unaccompanied cadets will phone home on arrival. Cadets are required to notify the COTC with their itinerary when known, e-mail preferred (recruiting@coronadobattalion.org). The contingent is planning to pick up arrivals at San Diego airport, or the train or bus station. Please try to plan your arrival time on or before 1200 on 22 March. Departure is in the reverse, and is planned for Saturday afternoon, 29 March, directly after graduation. Do not make your travel reservations depart before 1400 (2:00 p.m.) on graduation day, 29 March 2008. The training contingent will cease operations at 1200 hours on Saturday directly after graduation. WHEN POSSIBLE, PLEASE HAVE ELECTRONIC TICKETING SO THAT TRAINING STAFF CAN PRE-PRINT A BOARDING PASS FOR THE CADET BEFORE DEPARTURE. Uniform requirements as per NSCC Uniform Regulations on file with your cadet’s Commanding Officer, and the Seabag List outlining required items. Each cadet MUST be in possession of a complete, original Cadet Service Record and ID card when they arrive. In accordance with the Navy’s policy on commercial travel and Information Letter 3-01, Cadets arriving by commercial carrier are asked to wear appropriate civilian clothing. By Airplane All major airlines serve Lindberg Field (SAN), which is located about about 5 miles from the 32nd Street Naval Station. Once your luggage is obtained, proceed to the USO in Terminal 2. You may have to ask for directions. When checking in to the USO, show your NSCC ID card and call the COTC at the phone number provided. You will be picked up at the USO by one of the escort officers. By Bus or Train If you plan to travel by bus or train, please email the COTC for arrangements (recruiting@coronadobattalion.org). By Automobile Cadets may arrive in civilian clothes and will be asked to change into their Dress Blues for a formal picture when they arrive. A changing area will be available if needed. Directions to Naval Station San Diego Donnelly Hall: From 5 South, take the 28th Street Naval Station exit. Turn right and proceed on 28th Street to Harbor Drive. Turn left on Harbor Drive and proceed to 32nd Street. Turn left on 32nd Street and right on Norman Scott Road. When you enter the gate, ask for directions to Donnelly Hall.
