VISITORS
If you are between 11 and 17
years old, and are interested in adventure, why not join us? Cadets
receive training aboard Navy and Coast Guard ships and schools and wear
Navy uniforms marked with Sea Cadet Corps insignia. Click on the "Tour"
and "FAQ" buttons to see videos and learn more about
what cadets learn and do. Then click on "News" to
learn about current and past events and "Ship’s Log"
to read reports from cadets about their activities.
We invite you to be our guest at one of
our drills to get a taste of the Sea Cadets. Our drills are held at Naval
Amphibious Base Coronado on the second weekend of every month, from 0730
Saturday morning until 1600 (4 pm) Sunday afternoon. One of your parents will need to talk to
the officers when you arrive. Click on the "Contact Us" button
to request more information about the Sea Cadets program, directions to
our drill site, or the drill schedule. YOU MUST CONTACT US NO LATER THAN THE WEDNESDAY
BEFORE THE DRILL YOU WISH TO ATTEND so we can arrange clearance for you
with base security.

MISSION
Our mission is to instill character
in each cadet with teamwork, leadership, discipline, and self reliance. In
particular, teamwork is the key element to our success as a unit and as
individuals. We train each and every cadet, preparing them for their future role
as our nation’s leaders, civilian and military.

TRAINING
Coronado Battalion is
fortunate to be positioned on Naval Base Coronado (NBC). The unit receives
classroom and hands-on-training from active duty members of the U.S. Navy, the
Seabees, and US Marines, making it educational and adventurous. When not
training with members of active duty service or reserve units, the unit
participates in other activities and events, such as their annual flagship
competition and community service, combining fun and hard work to bring out the
best in each and every cadet.

SPONSORS
We are co-sponsored by
Amphibious Construction Battalion One (ACB1),
located here at the Naval Amphibious Base (NAB) and the
Amphibious ship, the BonHomme Richard (LHD-6).
The Naval Sea Cadet Corps is a
non-profit organization. Coronado Battalion's financial sponsor is the
Coronado Council of the Navy League of the United
States. We also try raising money on our own through raffle
tickets, car washes, and candy sales to purchase supplies,
uniform, equipment, and other necessary items and also to defray some of
the cost of training for cadets.
Please check out our "Sponsor" page to see how you
can help support the unit. Thank you.
