CONGRATULATIONS on our 2006 Pacific Southwest Region 11
Flagship performance! We proudly came home with two 3rd Place trophies
(swimming and Color Guard). In addition, we placed (tied) for 6th place
out of 24 units, a vast improvement over 2004 where we placed 13th out of
22 units (we did not participate in 2005 due to multiple scheduling
conflicts).
BRAVO ZULU to our Leading Petty Officer, PO1 Matt Exter,
who placed 5th out of 24 for the highly esteemed LPO award. GREAT WORK!
In addition, I am most thankful for the staff who spent
the weekend assisting with the numerous activities of chaperoning,
scoring, driving, errand running, etc. As you know, this event could never
happen without you (LCDR Franklin, HM3 Bartelson, HMC D'Ercole, LTJG Gieser,
INST Maher, INST Kaspar, Senior Chief Kaspar, and Webmaster LTjg Dooley).
Also, to the parents who were able to attend (and those there in spirit),
many thanks for your support of this program. As Captain Rannells said
during the closing ceremony, the purpose of the US Naval Sea Cadet Corps
is to augment what great work you do at home to create good citizens for
this country.
Please take
a look at the attached scorecard (PDF format) if you are interested in
seeing where we can improve for next year. Our NUMBER ONE GOAL remains --
to have fun!
Please send any pictures taken this weekend so that we can
put together a CD for parents and cadets. We're missing a few from the
group picture (they were at other events), but I thought I would share
this picture anyway.
Once again, thanks to all! I am excited about our 2007
participation.
Sincerely, CDR Rychnovsky
